It's not uncommon for a lot of users to use weak passwords because they are much easier to remember or to use scripts, templates and plug-ins that aren't updated for a long time. In either of these examples, it will not be difficult for a hacker to take control of the Internet site and following that to take control of other Internet sites that are hosted in the very same account. To prevent such a scenario, we've added an excellent security option named JailHost. It restricts the access that a script has just to its own folder, so in case one of your sites is compromised, the attacker will see its content, but will not be able to view any other content inside your account, thus the damage will be small. Of course, using JailHost will not substitute the security measures you need to take by keeping your scripts up-to-date and using long and complex passwords, but it will allow you to restrict any damage to one site only.

JailHost in Cloud Hosting

If you host your sites inside a cloud hosting account from our firm, you will be able to protect them by using the JailHost option with just a few clicks within your Hepsia Control Panel. This option is provided with all plans and can be activated for any folder as the domains and subdomains in Hepsia have different folders, so that files for various sites do not get mixed up as it usually happens with other Control Panels. We have not activated JailHost by default because you may use scripts which require access to folders outside the primary website folder and this option can interfere with their correct operation, but securing all of the other folders is simple and easy. If any secured site gets hacked for whatever reason, we will be able to restore it easily because we will have multiple daily backups of your entire account and you will even be able to view the available backups from Hepsia.

JailHost in Semi-dedicated Servers

JailHost comes with all of our semi-dedicated server packages and you will be able to activate it with a couple of clicks. It is not enabled by default since we don't want to prevent some scripts that need to access multiple folders in the account from working properly. You could activate JailHost for all other Internet sites that you have from the Hepsia Control Panel and this can be done very easily even if you lack previous experience. What enables us to offer JailHost is the way Hepsia maintains multiple domains - they all have individual folders which can be "locked". In comparison, other well known Control Panels have add-on domains and their content is kept in the main domain folder, so when a single Internet site is hacked, the whole account is hacked, which is not the case with Hepsia. In the event that an Internet site is damaged regardless of your efforts, we'll be able to recover it the way it was right away because we'll keep a couple of daily backups of your entire account.
